JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian government would take strict legal actions for political offenders, said the senior minister today (05/06), followed several actions by the opposition. The government also prepared legal steps for a number of post-election actions that were disturbing the public.

“Today we conduct a coordination meeting to assert that those who have violated the law must act. We need not hesitate so that later it will be a warning point for certain parties, do not arbitrarily in the country that is on this legal basis,”  said Coordinating Ministers for Law and Human Rights Wiranto after lead a limited coordination meeting in Jakarta, on Monday (05/6).

Firm action, he continued, was applied to the disturbers of order and national security. The government through law enforcement observes actions that fall into the category of law violations.

He added that after the election several actions emerged that disturbed the public. Among them in the form of insults and insults carried out by certain parties. In addition, there are also efforts to incite the public to take post-election unconstitutional actions.

He considered these things to cause unrest in the community and threaten national security. Therefore, he said that this needs to be addressed explicitly by the government. The community needs calm, especially in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, he added.

Wiranto gave an example of the issue of fighting between the National Police and the Army. There are also tilted issues that have been released regarding the neutrality of the Army.

“It is said that 70 percent of the Army can be influenced to take steps against unconstitutional measures, that is not true. Who speaks like that? Where? Must prove it. Because (if) it cannot prove, it must take risks and responsibilities legally,” he said.

Monitoring of legal violations is also carried out on social media. Wiranto wants the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology to act firmly on accounts that encourage violations of law.

“Which media that actually helps do violations of the law if we need to shut down we stop it. We close it okay for national security, there is a law that allows us to do that. Once again this is for the sake of upholding the Republic of Indonesia for people who want peace the people long for peace for Indonesia,” he noted.

Therefore the government, he added, for those parties who continue to carry out efforts that divide the unity, delegitimize government institutions, spread slander and hate speech, to stop their activities.

Secondly, law enforcement officials will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone who is clearly against the law which aims to delegitimize the election organizers who have carried out their duties in earnest to complete the vote count and have even caused the death of hundreds of officers as fighters for democracy.

Third, the public should not be provoked by incitement and advice against the legitimate government in ways that are unconstitutional and unlawful. All this is done to maintain the unity of the nation.

The government’ firm attitude is also relevant because previously the Islamic religious  “Ijtima Ulama” forum held a meeting to respond to the 2019 election which was considered full of fraud. This forum also issued five recommendations that there had been various frauds, crimes that were structured, systematic and massive in the 2019 election process.

Then, encourage and ask the opposition victory team to raise objections through a procedural legal mechanism regarding the occurrence of various fraudulent, systematic, and massive frauds and crimes in the process of the 2019 Presidential Election.

Furthermore, urging the Election Supervisory Board and the General Election Commission to decide the cancellation or disqualification of Joko Widodo – Maruf Amin candidacy, invites the people and all children of the nation to guard and accompany the struggle for law enforcement by means of constitutional law, in the fight against fraud and crime and injustice including the disqualification of potential incumbents who commit fraud and crime in the 2019 Presidential Election.

Finally, it was decided that the struggle against fraud and crime and injustice was a form of illiterate, constitutional and legal law in order to maintain the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia and the sovereignty of the people.
