JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – The National Committee to Elect Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno asked the General Election Commission to immediately resolve the final voters list. The opposition has repeatedly revealed this matter to the public and also reported it to the election administrators.
The opposition’ director of communication and media, Hashim Djojohadikusumo expressed the voters’ list issue was not intended to delegitimize the holding of general elections.
“We are not at all delimiting but are legitimizing. We are equally good in terms of things that have not been corrected,” he told media on Monday (01/04).
Subianto’ younger brother said his team found allegations of 17.5 million final voters list problems. This number comes from the number of voters with the same birth date in significant numbers.
Voters with the date of birth on Jan. 1 reached 2.3 million, July 1 as many as 9.8 million, and Dec. 31 as many as 5.4 million. He accused the initial mistake was clear since the registration of residents in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Considering the need for clean election, he regretted that the National Campaign Team of Joko Widodo – Ma’ruf Amin, which he considered, not taken action to help guard the unnatural voters data.
“The problematic issue must be resolved so that there is no mistrust of the election organizers,” Djojohadikusumo added.
He asked the election commission to correct the voter data. “Talk about the industrial revolution 4.0 but this kind of data business is incompetent,” he said.
On the same occasion, the opposition’ board of trustees, Amien Rais, urged the election commission to immediately resolve and verify the voters’ list which was suspected of being problematic before the presidential election.
“As soon as possible, the central election commission not only conducts matching and research through all the officers it has but also must go to the field in order to validate and verify the voters’ data,” he said.
Djojohadikusumo claimed have reported the voters data problem since March 1, but still found a defective voters list and had not been repaired according to the election commission‘ promise.
In addition to questioning the voter data with three birth dates in large numbers, he also found the duplicated data of the family card and population identification number which has implications for the number of multiple voters data in the millions in five provinces in Java.
“Our information technology team found that there is one household containing hundreds to thousands of people in Banyuwangi, Magelang, and others. This is serious manipulation because it violates Article 488 of Election Law Number 7 Year of 2017,” he said.
This invalid voters data finding occurred in several regions with the highest concentration of cases in East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta. He stated, “When coupled with several other regions, the total accumulation of alleged voters data is not reasonable, hovering around 18 million cases.”
According to him, the voters’ data which contains many irregularities, is not logical and invalid is a threat to the legitimacy (validity) of the election. “We all do not want April 17, 2019, election to be an election that is dishonest, unfair, not quality and without integrity,” he said.
Therefore, Djojohadikusumo urged all state institutions and agencies, especially the Indonesian ministry of home affairs, to immediately resolve the voters’ issue.
Meanwhile, the opposition’ spokesman Ahmad Riza Patria said that his team had received an explanation regarding the workings of the election commission in checking the voters’ data. He hopes the commission can provide the results of the report in writing.
“Hopefully this afternoon there will generally be an overview and specifically legally will be announced based on the plenary. We will be given a full written report. Our hope is that the election commission will continue to clean up so that the voters’ data is better,” he said.
Patria said that his party was waiting whether the commission would announce the results of the repairs. Because, according to him, cleaning the voters’ data is not only the interests of the Subianto – Uno team, but also all political parties, election participants, and the nation.
