Investors race to buy Bukopin shares - Exclusive | Company data

(The Insider Stories) – Three investors are racingto buy up to 41.4% shares of commercial bank PT Bank Bukopin (BBKP) from state-run labor groups Koperasi Pegawai Bulog Seluruh Indonesia (Kopelindo) and Yayasan Bina Sejahtera Warga Bulog (Yanatera). According to sources, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), Bosowa Corp. and Indonesian private-equity firm Saratoga Capital are competing to buy the shares.

People with knowledge of the matter said Bank Rakyat made an offer for the Bukopin shares at 1,380 rupiah and Saratoga at IDR1,400 per share. There was no information on Bosowa’s offer.

Founder of Saratoga Capital Sandiaga Uno and Bosowa’s CEO Erwin Aksa declined to comment but BRI CEO Sofyan Basyir said they are interested in acquiring a bank that is in a similar line of business with BRI.

PT CIMB Securities is financial advisor for the deal.
