Indonesia could benefit Pakistan Thar coal project | Wires
(The Insider Stories) — Indonesia’s experience with coal developments could benefit Pakistan’s multibillion dollar Thar coal project, while the Indonesia-Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) could double bilateral trade from around US$1 billion currently, the country’s representative to Pakistan says, according to wire service reports.
Ambassador Burhan Muhammad told the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry that the trade deal, signed in February but yet to be implemented, could help Pakistani entrepreneurs to enter the Indonesian market. Indonesia exports crude palm oil to Pakistan and imports Pakistani handicrafts, food and other products.
