JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Ryan Harris, owner of a salt producer, PT Unichem Candi Indonesia control the plantation producer firm, PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (IDX: UNSP) shares, the Indonesian Central Securities Depository reported. He is known have bought shares owned by the Bakrie family from Indo Alam Resources Pte. Ltd, one of the company’ existing shareholders last week.

Based on data from the company’ financial statements, the shareholders of the issuer are 54.88 percent owned by public. Then, Series B shares are held by Ernawati Ali 9.33 percent, Suprajarto 9.08 percent, PT Mateo Sagraha Atlantis 8.94 percent, Indo Alam Resources 8.38 percent, Lie Leonard Djajali 7.78 percent, and others 1.61 percent.

Indo Alam was originally a creditor of Bakrie Sumatra, after exchanging debt with shares valued at Rp130.95 billion (US$9.03 million). Other creditors PT Mateo Sagraha Atlantis Rp67.08 billion, PT Lingga Manik Rp12.07 billion, Leonard Djalali Rp58.33 billion, and Loh Thim Fatt Rp69.99 billion.

When the transaction was made, Indo Alam owned 17.46 percent of the plantation’s shares. After selling 284,859,700 shares to Ryan, Indo Alam’ ownership decreased to 6.07 percent.

Harris is the CEO of PT Unichem Candi Indonesia Unn Harris and Unichem Candi Indonesia. He along with former minister of industry, Airlangga Hartarto, had inaugurated the UNIChemChandi Indonesia Factory in Gresik on March 9, 2018.

The publicly listed firm is a palm oil producer founded in 1911 under the name “NV Hollandsch American Plantage Maatschappij”. After several changes, the latest Bakrie Group decided on a company called Bakrie Sumatra Plantations.

Bakrie Sumatera‘ business activities include palm oil plantations, rubber plantations and other latex-producing plants, the crude palm oil industry, the crumb rubber industry, and large-scale trading of oil-containing fruit. In addition, large-scale trade of rubber and plastic in the basic form and large-scale trade of various kinds of goods.

The company owns a total of 67,945 land areas and 73,329 land planted as of the end of 2019. The company is a part of the Bakrie Group.
