JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – The officer of one of the Indonesian Islamic parties Romahurmuziy was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC) in East Java on Friday (03/15). He is the General Chair of the Persatuan Pembangunan Party (PPP).

He is currently at the East Java Police Headquarters to undergo an initial examination. An investigator confirmed the arrest. He called Romahurmuziy arrested at 09.00 WIB today. The police also provide justification.

“It’s true. At this time it’s been in the East Java Regional Police. Now it’s preparing to go to Jakarta,” said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police Frans Barung Mangera when asked for confirmation.

The location of the arrest is said to be in the Surabaya Ministry of Religion Regional Office. In this arrest, the CEC team had 1 x 24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties arrested.

It’s just that, Mangera did not respond further to the case which caught up with Romahurmuziy. He asked the media to ask this further to the CEC. “Try asking the CEC, that’s the agency’s authority,” Mangera said.

CEC General Chair Agus Rahardjo also confirmed the agency’s capture operations in East Java. However, he was not yet willing to give further information. “Currently the CEC is being investigated at the East Java Regional Police,” he said. The arrested party would be determined its status after undergoing the examination, he added. “Wait for the press conference at the CEC,” he told reporters.

Previously, in August 2018, Romahurmuziy had also been questioned by the CEC in the case of the alleged bribe of the proposed funds of Rp. 1.4 billion in the 2018 regional financial balance.

The party led by Romahurmuziy is one of the coalition parties carrying Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin in the 2019 Presidential Election.
