JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo and vice president Ma’ruf Amin will announce his new cabinet member on Sunday (10/20), said the head of states yesterday at State Palace. The new cabinet, he said, combination between new face and old ministers.
“Yes there is, the old ones there are, the new ones are many. I will announce it immediately after the inauguration of the president and vice president on Oct. 20,” he said.
In addition, president stated, the ministers came from various backgrounds. He also explained, there is new nomenclature and merge some ministry or institution at his second term’ cabinet.
Some observers mentioned “new” names will enter the new cabinet are former Jakarta’ governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Prabowo Subianto, Mahfud MD, Tri Rismaharini, Agus Harimurty Yudhoyono, Nadiem Makarim, Bambang Wuryanto, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Chatib Basri, Gita Wirjawan and others name.
While, many active minister names are also deemed worthy to continues, such as Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Susi Pudjiastuti, Airlangga Hartanto, Hanif Dhakiri, Basoeki Hadimoeljono, and Retno Marsudi..
During the election campaign period he often echoed the ecosystem of digital society, digital cities, or digital villages. It could be that this is a sign that a new ministry will be formed. He also possible to merge foreign ministry and trade ministry or industry. In his first term, Widodo also mentioned he wanted to create state revenues agency.
Although it has not been announced yet, a number of parties have thrown the desired ministerial post signal. Demokrasi Perjuangan Indonesia Party, for and example, is eyeing a number of main posts that have become its portfolio since 2014, namely domestic minister, minister of law and human rights, defense minister, villages minister, and minister of agriculture.
