JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – President Joko Widodo is rumored to reshuffle his cabinet in this week, including replacing and shifting several ministerial positions, after working on the plans for weeks. Some names has been rumored to fill the positions are Budi G. Sadikin, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Tri Rismaharini, Yahya Cholil Stakuf, FX Rudyatmo, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Eriko Sotarduga Sitorus, Sukur Nababan, and Komarudin Watubun.

As reported, two ministers of the “Indonesia Maju” cabinet member, minister of marine and fisheries affairs, Edhy Prabowo, and minister for social affairs, Julari P. Batubara were caught in a corruption cases by the Corruption Eradication Commission. Both of them are cadres of the Gerindra Party and the Indonesian Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan Party.

Coupled with the pandemic situation there are some issues Widodo should strengthened his cabinet to tackle the virus outbreak. At the plenary cabinet meeting on June 18, at the State Palace, he was angry at his cabinet on the worse handling of the COVID-19 and threatened to overhaul his assistants.

Although it reeks of cultural myths, his decision regarding the overhaul is still awaited. The urge to reshuffle is getting stronger from various groups, ranging from academics, civil society, to Widodo’ own supporter groups such as Projo.

The cabinet under President Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin combine young and experienced peoples. 34 ministers has fill the cabinet in the second term of his administration.

“Don’t be corrupt. There is no vision and mission of the minister, but the president and vice president vision and mission, work fast, hard and productive, don’t get stuck in routine and monotonous, work with results orientation, always check on the field and find solutions, and at any time I can dismiss the minister if unable to carry out their duties,” said the head of state on Oct. 23, 2019.

The cabinet members was inaugurated a day later.
