PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (J Resources) is an Indonesia-based holding company listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (PSAB), which primarily invests in and manages gold mining businesses along with other precious metals businesses within the Australasian region.

Our aim is to add value both through superior project management and technical knowledge. Drawing on our many years of combined experience in the field, we understand how to get the best out of our assets and boost production in a cost-efficient and environmentally responsible manner. We are also able to add value at a strategic business level through our ability to access the region’s capital markets which enables us to put together and execute deals at the regional scale, creating tangible value for our shareholders.

A dynamic and fast-moving company, we actively seek to expand through organic growth as well as through acquisition, leveraging the real and deep industry experience of our people to deliver significant returns.

The driving force behind PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (J Resources), formerly PT Pelita Sejahtera Abadi Tbk, is Mr. Jimmy Budiarto, a well-known entrepreneur who was previously part of PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA), one of Indonesia’s largest mining contractor. From his experience with BUMA working in the field, he came to intimately understand the mining business.

He began to build the core of J Resources’ initial portfolio by taking over gold and silver in Malaysia and Indonesia belonging to Avocet Mining Plc., a UK-listed mining company. The Avocet assets were acquired by PT J Resources Nusantara (JRN), with Mr. Budiarto at the helm, then placed under J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk in 2012.

These assets, which Mr. Budiarto identified as having good upside portfolio, formed the core of a precious metals portfolio that would supply initial gold production, development projects (for production expansion) and extensive exploration acreage to allow replacement of ore reserves and upside in the ongoing discovery process.

After due diligence and assembling an expert team, in 2011 Mr. Budiarto took over these Avocet assets through intermediary vehicle PT J Resources Nusantara (JRN), which was in turn placed under J Resources by Mr. Budiarto in early 2012.

Parallel to these events, under Mr. Budiarto’s leadership the portfolio continued to grow swiftly to encompass a number of promising development and exploration assets, complementing the Avocet producing assets.

J Resources continues to actively develop existing assets even as we search for new projects that meet our criteria for adding value and scale to ensure sustainability in a very dynamic market. This includes but is not limited to an internal review of all gold opportunities in Asia that might welcome participation or joint venture to allow collective growth. This remains work in progress and forms the basis of our expansion strategy.
