UAE’s Mubadala Petroleum is operator of West Sebuku PSC
(Insider Stories)-UAE-based Mubadala Petroleum along with Japan’s top oil and gas explorer, Inpex Corporation, has been awarded the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the West Sebuku block located near Indonesia’s Makassar strait, reflecting increasing interest from Middle Eastern nations to invest in Indonesia.
Mudabala said in a statement over the weekend that the PSC was given by Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The UAE-based oil and gas company was appointed to become the operator at the block and controls a 75.5% interest. Inpex holds the remainder.
Mubadala said it has undertaken a geological study in the block’s area last year and now turns its focus on getting three dimensional seismic data over the block.
The West Sebuku block is located adjacent to an oil and gas block operated by Mudabala via its affiliate Pearloil Sebuku Ltd.
