Twenty Two Lenders in Indonesia Have Controlling Shareholders Exceeding Cbank Treshold Indonesia Finance Today
As many as 22 publicly listed lenders have their controlling shareholders exceeded the maximum holding threshold set by the central bank, according to Research Department from Indonesia Finance Today.
According to a regulation from Bank Indonesia number 14/8/PBI/2012, a bank and non-bank financial institution can own up to 40 % stake in a bank. Meanwhile, a non financial institution and individuals can own a maximum 30% and 20 % respectively.
Irwan Lubis, Director of Banking Research and Regulation said on December this year, the central bank will undertake the health level and good corporate governance on all 120 commercial banks.
