General Motors to Assemble Chevrolet Spin in Indonesia’s Bekasi 

General Motors to assemble Chevrolet Spin, a multi-purpose vehicle type model, in its plant in Bekasi, West Java province of Indonesia, it said in a statement.

The US car maker announced in August 2011 that it was reopening its abandoned plant in Bekasi, under 11 hectares of land, which will produce 40,000 units of cars per year and create employment for about 800 job seekers.

“Chevrolet Spin is a wonderful small MPV, which is efficient and functional. It is the only model that offers automatic six transmission gear in its class. The Spin offers affordable price,” said Martin Apfel, GM Southeast Asia President in a statement on June 13.
