JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Indonesian shares are expected to open higher today, extending yesterday’s gains, on technical rebound, with positive performance of Wall Street overnight may add positive note on the market, analysts say.
On Thursday, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed up 119 points or 2.33 percent to 5,265 points.
Overnight, DJIA rose 0.99 percent, S&P500 added 1.01 percent and Nasdaq rose 1.47 percent. EU stocks were also up, with FTSE added 0.85 percent, DAX in Germany rose 0.51 percent and CAC of France edged up 0.07 percent. In Asia, Nikkei fell 1.26 percent, Hang Seng dropped 0.11 percent and SSE in Shanghai lost 0.68 percent.
Asjaya Indosurya said in its morning notes that technically, the JCI could move within support level of 5,114 and resistance level of 5,302 points today.
It said the release of positive trade data on Thursday may have helped lift market sentiment. Asjaya expects the JCI to go up today on technical rebound and upbeat on economic data.
