The investment ministry is reportedly being held by Bahlil Lahadalia and the education, culture, research and technology ministry by Nadiem Makarim.

While, Bambang Brodjonegoro is reported to have resigned from his current position as a member of the “Indonesia Maju” cabinet. The head of state also form a National Research and Innovation Agency which will be commanded by Laksana Tri Handoko.

On Tuesday, Densus 88, the National Police’ special anti-terror detachment, has arrested Munarman, former general secretary of the now-disbanded Front Pembela Islam. He was arrested under suspicions of mobilizing people and having malicious consensus to commit crimes of terrorism, as well as withholding information.

From the United States (US), Federal Reserves (Fed) has an agenda to announces their latest monetary policy and the current economic condition. No big surprises are expected in the central bank’ decision today but markets waiting the comments from the chairman, Jerome Powell.

Then, the United Nation’ health agency said the B1617 variant of COVID-19 first found in India had been detected in over 1,200 sequences uploaded to the GISAID open-access database “from at least 17 countries”. The agency listed the new variant as a “variant of interest”.

That label would indicate that it is more dangerous that the original version of the virus by for instance being more transmissible, deadly or able to dodge vaccine protections.

Yesterday, Indonesian Rupiah weakened 0.05 percent to 14,497 per US Dollar and the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 0.09 percent to 5,959.62 compared to the previous day. The analysts rated investors will consolidate their positions ahead of the Fed’s decision.

In the country, the central government continues to closely monitor the Jakarta area, which is currently experiencing an increase in the transmission of the infection cases, especially in office clusters.
