JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade is optimistic that the annual event Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) starting today would reap a transaction valued over than US$1 billion from of thousands of buyers from various countries. Last year, the transactions reached US$909 million. The ministry brought 14,700 buyers and 1,100 national companies as exhibitors.
Trade Minister Lukita Enggartiasto said in a press statement to diversify export markets, buyers from non-traditional markets that will dominate the TEI 2016. This year, TEI carries a theme “Indonesia: Source of Natural & Creative Products”. This is in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Trade in implementing the strategy of diversification of export products. (*)
