JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – The Gerindra Party eyes People’s Consultative Assembly chair leader, said the chairperson yesterday (07/25). The party has a big chance to lead the assembly because gets 12.57 percent of the votes or a second position in 2019 general election.

“I don’t think its too much if we lead the Consultative Assembly because we have the second largest vote in the last election,” said Gerindra Party deputy chairperson Ahmad Riza Patria as quoted by local media.

Two names has potential to become the highest state institution chairman are Ahmad Muzani and vice chairman of House of Representatives Fadli Zon, he adds.

The meeting between the leader of Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto with Joko Widodo and former fifth Indonesian president and the chairwomen of Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan Party (PDI-P) Megawati Soekarnoputri gave clear direction on his. The daughter of Indonesia’ first president through political symbol of fried rice gave as message that the differences such of the ingredients of fried rice are a natural thing in a good democracy.

That means Gerindra has opportunity to walk with government despite differing ideas. Both of leaders give signal to join forces in advancing Indonesia after both parties was involved in the fierce political competition over the last decade.

While, Gerindra’ senior politician Sodik Mudjahid said that reconciliation between the opposition and the incumbent had taken place and it became an opportunity for legislators to become Indonesian assembly chairperson. According to him the improved relationship between rivals in the 2019 election gave composition in 2019 – 2024 House’ chairperson.

“The best composition at this time in parliament is Gerindra Party being chairman of the assember and chairperson of the House from PDI-P Party and Indonesian President is Joko Widodo,” Mudjahid said last week.

While, PDI-P’ senior politician Pramono Anung agreed that the assembly chair would be filled by parties that passed to House of Representatives. Some of parties that were intended were PDI-P, Golongan Karya Party, Kebangkitan Bangsa Party, Nasional Demokrasi Party, and Persatuan Pembangunan Party.

Gerinda‘ efforts to lead the Consultative Assembly parraling with some ideas to change the length of president period at 1945’ Constitution. Some elites from Gerindra proposed to extend the president period from five years to seven and 10 years.
