JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – President Joko Widodo not hesitate to re-close Indonesia if the daily COVID-19 patients rise during the implementation of “new normal”. He delivered the statements during his visit to task force for COVID-19 handling in Jakarta, today (06/10).
“I need to remind you that if there is an increase in new cases, we will immediately tighten up or close it again,” said the head of state through a virtual conference.
He also asked the regional heads who had implemented the new normal phase to routinely evaluate the situation on the ground and instead faced a second wave of the virus transmission. He sees that there are still areas where the level of transmission is still fluctuating.
The spokesman for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto reported, there were an additional 1,241 new cases of infection in Indonesia, bringing the total of positive cases to 34,316 positive as of today. Total fatalities also increased by 36 to 1,959, recovered 12,129 people, and people under surveillance 14,242.
Since Widodo announced the government will open the country dan will implement the “new normal” gradually, number of positive cases rose significantly, almost a thousand per day. The virus have spread to 34 provinces in 422 districts and cities.
As part of the planned, on Tuesday, minister of transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, has issued minesterial decree Number 41 of 2020 regarding Transportation Control in the context of Preventing the Distribution of COVID-19. The decision has been made to support the reopening number of economic activities in the country.
He also announced to resume the domestic flights for all passengers with a maximum 70 percent capacity and follow strict rules brought into force. For travelers, the person must show his identity card or other valid identification. Then, a PCR test certificate with a negative result that is valid for seven days or a test certificate for Rapid test with results non reactive which is valid for three days at the time of existence force or show an influenza symptom-free certificate issued by the hospital or doctor.
