
JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Sabana Prawira Widjaja, the grandson of the founder of PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk (IDX: ULTJ), bought 1.3 billion shares of the issuer shares in the negotiation market with total amount around Rp2 trillion (US$136.05 million). With the purchased, the family’ ownership added 2.09 billion shares or representing to 18.10 percent.
Last week,the company shares made a scene for the investors because there were large-scale transactions in the stock market. On Thursday (08/13), the market players were astonished because the total number of transactions on the negotiation market was quite large, worth of Rp10.6 trillion.
PT Shinhan Sekuritas has recorded 13 million lots of purchases or 1.3 billion shares of Ultrajaya at Rp1,600 a share with a transaction value of IDR 2.1 trillion. This purchased itself was made from the broker PT Net Sekuritas. Previously, PT Indolife Pensiontama had released some of the beverages producer’ ownership with total amount 66 million shares.
Based on the company data at Indonesia Stock Exchange, Indolife’ portion previously reached 15.06 percent or 1.74 billion shares. However, at the end of March, the amount had decreased to 14.49 percent or 1.67 billion shares or declined by 0.57 percent.
In the first quarter of 2020, the milk producer, Ultramilk, recorded a net profit up to 79 percent to Rp299.95 billion from the same period of last year of Rp167.13 billion. The revenues rose 10 percent from Rp1.30 trillion to Rp1.43 trillion.
Widjaja family was included in the Forbes list of the richest people in Indonesia in 2019 with a net worth of $915 million. The largest shareholder of the companye are 21.40 percent by PT Prawirawidjaja Prakarsa, Widjaja with 31.26 percent, PT Indolife Pensiontama 14.90 percent, Samudera Prawirawidjaja 18.75 percent, and the rest by public.
Ultrajaya was established on Nov. 2, 1971 and started commercial operations in early 1974. While, Indolife Pensiontama is a life insurance and pension fund company owned by the Salim Group. The insurer has sold 34.48 million shares of Ultrajaya and reduced ownership from 14.49 percent to 14.19 percent.
