JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Rumah.com has acquired a leading property website in Indonesia, RumahDijual.com for undisclosed amount, said the company in an official announcement today.

Rumah.com is a unit of Singapore property portal PropertyGuru while RumahDijual.com was founded by entrepreneur John Aristianto.

Based on the company statement, the acquisition was made shortly after strategic consortium led by Emtek Group-one of the largest media group in the country- made an investment of S$175 million (Rp 2.5 trillion) in June 2015.

The two websites, RumahDijual.com and Rumah.com, currently control 43 percent of the total time on site market-the total time spent all internet users to visit the property sites in Indonesia-almost twice that of its nearest competitor.

Currently, the combined visitors of Rumah.com and RumahDijual.com reach 5.5 million users, who visited more than 30 million property pages, each month.

Steve Melhuish, CEO and Co-Founder PropertyGuru, said Indonesia is strategically important for PropertyGuru because the country has the largest number of people who want to buy properties (property seekers) and one of the largest digital property market and Southeast Asia.

“We have allocated tens of millions of dollars in the next few years to make further innovations in the Indonesian market, thus strengthening our position as a leader in the Indonesian market,” he stated

RumahDijual.com founder, John Kristiano added that he was impressed with the mindset of PropertyGuru’s innovation and makes him believe that if his company joins with Rumahku.com, the two can take property seekers in Indonesia to a higher level.

“When I met Rumah.com, I immediately knew that we had the same vision, which is to help consumers in Indonesia to find the right home,” he said. (*)
