Darmin : Rupiah still undervalue

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Nasution says the strengthening of the rupiah against the US dollar is still below target (undervalued) and has not yet reached economic fundamentals. According to him rupiah appreciation is due to many factors including the global economic situation and domestic. Indonesian economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2015 improved to a level of 5.04 percent boosted by government spending and investment sectors. In addition, He said, the strengthening of the rupiah was also due to the improvement of the policy through a package of economic policies that have been released by the government. According to Bloomberg data, Rupiah closed at Rp13,463 against US dollar or up 0.06 percent from yesterday level.
