JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - PT Pertamina (Persero), state-owned enterprise in the energy sector, recorded oil and gas production up to July 2016 amounted to 640,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) or 12 percent higher than the same period last year of 571 BOEPD supported increased production of a number of subsidiaries.
Vice President Corporate Communications of Pertamina Wianda Pusponegoro said the rise in oil and gas production was underpinned by increased production from the Cepu block which jumped 148 percent to 77,000 BOEPD compared to the same period last year 31,000 BOEPD.
PT Pertamina EP Cepu has a 45 percent participating interest in Block Cepu. In addition, the increase was also supported by the rise in oil and gas production consolidation of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi to 189 from the previous 149 thousand BOEPD BOEPD. The largest contribution comes from the production of oil and gas company PT Pertamina EP, which amounted to 256 BOEPD.
She asserted, from foreign courts, through PT Pertamina International Pertamina EP listed oil and gas production amounted to 119 ,000 BOEPD throughout January to July 2016. Oil and gas production rose 8 percent compared to the same period last year amounted to 110,000 BOEPD.
Oil production in the first seven months of this year, both from abroad and field in the country reached 307,000 bpd, up 11.6 percent over the same period last year amounted to 275,000 bpd. While gas production amounted to 1,932 MMSCFD, up 12.8 percent over the same period last year at 1,712 MMSCFD.
“We will continue working to increase oil production from both inside and outside the country. What was achieved in the last 7 months with growth of 12% indicates Pertamina efforts yielded positive results and are expected to continue to rise until the end of the year,” said Wianda. (*)
