JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – PT Indosat Ooredoo Tbk (IDX:ISAT) teams up with PT Palapa Satelit Nusantara (PSN to launch Palapa Nusantara 1 (Palapa N-1) in 2020, with estimated investment of US$200 million. Both parties have agreed to set up JV called PT Palapa Satelit Nusa Sejahtera (PSNS), in which Indosat owns 35% and PSN 65%.
Indosat CEO Alexander Rusli said the Palapa N-1 satellite will be the sixth satellite launched by Indosat. He expects the new satellite will help boost the company’s broadband access and support the government’s drive to digitalize the country’s economy.
He made the statement after signing an MoU to purchase Palapa-N1 satellite from China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) in Jakarta on Wednesday (May 17). (*)
