Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Sandiaga Uno - Photo Privacy

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian Elections Supervisory Agency (ESA) said that the alleged political payment from vice presidential hopeful Sandiaga Uno for Keadilan Sejahtera and Amanat Nasional Party is not proven.

“On the report Number 01/LP /PP/RI/00.00/ VIII/2018 stipulated that there have been payment of money from Uno to Amanat Nasional and Keadilan Sejahtera Party in the process of presidential and vice presidential candidacy can not be proven legally,” said the Chairman of ES  Abhan in a written statement o Friday (31/08).

He also said that the agency did not find any type of election breached by the party who has been reported. The rule was taken by ESA after getting clarification was carried out by inviting witness and complainant.

The Deputy Chairman of Indonesia United Federation, an NGO reported an alleged political payment for around Rp1 trillion (US$689.65 million) to ESA. Uno was allegedly gave the political payment to the two parties as a reward for their support in 2019 presidential and vice presidential candidacy.

Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno officially registered as presidential and vice presidential candidates to the General Election Commission this afternoon. Together with his supporters and the supporting parties, the two candidates walked from Sunda Kelapa Mosque to the election commission office.

There is an unique event at the Subianto’s declaration, daughter of the first and second president together with two sons of the sixth president accompany him in the declaration.

“We only want to be in power with the permission of the people, and we want to be in power to serve the people of Indonesia. We want to serve so that there are no poor people in Indonesia, and there should be no hungry people in Indonesia,” said Subianto to media on Friday (10/08).

In his remarks, he also expressed his appreciation to the four parties which carried him forward, namely Keadilan Sejahtera Party, Amanat Nasional Party, Demokrat Party and Berkarya Party, represented by Titiek Soeharto.

Subianto also touched on the heavy duty of the election commission to present honest, clean and fair elections. He hopes that the public will be given the authority to determine its sovereignty through the election system.

He added, the future of the nation’s is on the shoulders of the election commision. For that, Subianto urged, the commission must maintain justice, honesty, cleanliness rather than elections.

All presidential and vice presidential candidates will start the campaign on September till April 8. The Legislative and Presidential Election 2019 will be held simultaneously on April 17, 2019. The series of stages will be carried out since this year, precisely in October 2017.

The campaign period is shortened only six months start on Oct. 13, 2018 until April 13, 2019 followed by, verify political parties on Oct. 1, 2017, the determination of political parties participating in the election on March 1, 2018, submission of candidates for parliament in May 2018, submitting candidates for president and vice president in August 2018, determination of parliament in August 2018.

Meanwhile, the determination of candidates for president and vice president and the list of permanent candidates in September 2018, inauguration of Regency, City and Provincial from August to September 2019, inauguration of parliament member on Oct. 1, 2019 and inauguration of the president and vice president on Oct. 20, 2019.
