India imposes anti-dumping duty on PTA import from Indonesia, others

JAKARTA - India’s Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) imports from Indonesia, China, Iran, and Taiwan. Based on the recommendations of the designated authority in its final findings, the revenue department has imposed anti-dumping duty that ranged from $83.08 per tonne to $168.76 per tonne depending on the producer and country of export.

The anti-dumping duty has been levied for a period of five years and is effective December 10, 2015, which is the date of imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty. This revenue department move came almost a month after the designated authority’s recommendations in its final findings on June 9 this year. (*)
