JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (IDX:BBNI) booked net profit of Rp3.23 trillion in the first quarter 2017, growing 8.5 percent from the same period last year. The net profit was in line with a 12.3 percent increase in net interest income (NII) to Rp7.76 trillion in the period from Rp6.91 trillion in the same period last year.
Its non interest income rose 14.25 percent to Rp2.23 trillion in the first quarter from Rp1.96 trillion a year ago. In the period, the bank recorded loan growth of 21.4 percent to Rp396.52 trillion. Around 72% of the loans are channeled to corporate sector, including infrastructure projects, 16.6 percent were allocated to consumer sector.
As of end March, BNI’s assets stood at Rp618.81 trillion, up 21.6 percent from the same period last year, while third party funds reached Rp445.06 trillion, up 19.8 percent from Rp371.56 trillion a year ago. (*)
