Bosowa’s Taxi Unit Buys 1,000 Hyundai Cars 

Press Release - Taksi Bosowa, a taxi operator arm of Bosowa Corporation, a Makassar-based conglomerate with diversified business, announced the purcase of 1,000 units of new Hyundai cars to support its operations as well as preparing for future expansion.

Subhan Aksa, the President Commissioner at Taksi Bosowa recently sign an agreement with Jongkie D Sugiarto, the President Director at PT Hyundai Mobil Indonesia, the sole distributor of the South Korean cars in Indonesia, to purchase 1,000 units of Hyundai Excell III.

The signing ceremony was held in the Ball Room of Sultan Hotel.

“The 1,000 new taxi fleets of Hyundai Excell III will be dedicated for the fleet addition for Surabaya and preparation for expansion in other regions. Taksi Bosowa is eyeing to grow into regions with great tourism potentials, such as Manado (North Sulawesi) and Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi),” Subhan, the youngest child of Aksa Mahmud, the founder of Bosowa Corp. said.

On Wednesday, Taksi Bosowa also received Hyundai Fleet award as the first taxi operator that runs Hyundai Excell III outside Jakarta.

Subhan said the company will focus on reforming the current operations to improve performance. Taksi Bosowa now operates around 1,000 fleets in Makassar (South Sulawesi) and around 600 in Surabaya (East Java).

He said Taksi Bosowa already eyeing for some regions for future expansions. “Probably we will try in Sulawesi first, after that we can think of expanding to other regions,” he said. Bosowa has drafted a plan to provide around 200 units of taxi for each region it plans to expand.

President Director of Taksi Bosowa, Yoyok Sucahyo said the management of the company has prepared a long term strategy to expand its footprints into all over Indonesia. However, he predicted it may take around 10 years.

Bosowa is a pioneer group from the eastern part of Indonesia that has been operating for 40 years. The group now has grown into a national scale company. It will continue to make a number of breakthroughs and strategies to strengthen its presence. The group now runs business in 10 sectors, they are the automotive, cement, logistics and transportation, mining, property, finance, infrastructure, energy, media and multi businesses.
