JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Bank Indonesia has decided to keep benchmark rate, BI Rate, unchanged at 7.50 percent at its Board meeting on Thursday (Sept. 17). The central bank also maintains deposit facility of Bank Indonesia (FASBI) at 5.5 percent and the Lending Facility rate at 8.0 percent.
“The BI Board meeting on September 17 has decided to keep BI rate at 7.5 percent,” said BI Executive Director for Communication Department Tirta Segara.
The BI Rate has been unchanged for seventh months in the row. The decision appears to be in line with the central bank’s efforts to tame inflation and also taking into account weakening of rupiah.
