Amman Mineral proposes to jointly use smelter with Freeport Indonesia

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT), previously known as Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) is proposing to PT Freeport Indonesia to jointly use smelter facility to process their ores.

Amman Mineral is developing a smelter in its Batu Hijau mining site in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. Bisnis Indonesia quoted the founder of Medco Energi Arifin Panigoro that if Freeport agreed with the proposal, Amman Mineral will increase the capacity of its planned smelter to 2 million tons per annum from 1 million tons.

Currently, 82.2% of AMNT shares are held by Amman Mineral Infrastructure and 17.8% owned by PT Pukuafu Indah. Amman Mineral is owned by PT AP Investment and PT Medco Energi International Tbk (IDX:MEDC). (*)
