JAKARTA - Italian power producer Enel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indonesian power utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to build sustainable power generation in Indonesia. Enel will also cooperate with PLN to evaluate opportunities in mini-grid technologies for the energy supply to remote areas and islands.
Enel Group Sub-Saharan and Asia Region head Francesco Venturini said in a statement that the agreement marks the beginning of an important partnership that recognises Enel’s commitment to develop an operational presence in Indonesia. Currently, PLN has over 46,100MW of power generation capacity across the country. (*)
