JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – As many as 33 businessmen from Oman, who are engaging in various business sectors, are currently visiting Indonesia to seek investment and business opportunities, National Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) said.
On Wednesday (Mar 8), BKPM conducted Business Forum Indonesia-Oman held at BKPM office, which was also attended by Indonesian top business leaders. BKPM chairman Thomas Trikasih Lembong said these business people from Oman engage in various sectors, such as construction, export-import, property, manufacturing, mining, logistic, tourism, IT and banks.
“The visit of business people from Oman shows that the interest of business people in the Middle East to invest in Indonesia is on the rise,” Thomas Lembong said.
Data from BKPM shows that realized investment from Oman in Indonesia in 2010-2016 reached US$211,000, ranked 101. The investment went to food, plantation and electricity. Oman’s investment mostly went to South Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UK.
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Rosan P. Roeslani, Oman Ambassador to Indonesia Nazar Said and Advisor for Economic Affair of Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (ITHRAA and Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) were also attending the forum.
