JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – United States (US) President Donald Trump announced a new economic stimulus and said he would take “major steps” to ease economic strains caused by the spread of the coronavirus in his country. The economic stimuli including payroll tax cuts and loans to small businesses.

“As you know, its about 600 cases, it’s about 26 deaths, within our country.  And had we not acted quickly, that number would have been substantially more. But we just had a meeting on stimulus, and you’ll be hearing about it soon,” he said after met with the Republican at the White House on Wednesday (03/10) based on the official statement.

Trump’ announcement comes after the New York Stock Exchange finished Monday with its worst loss since December 2008 and the Dow Jones and S&P slid by more than 7 percent due to the virus and oil price war.

Vice President Mike Pence also reassured that a risk of serious disease among Americans remains low. While, US secretary of health and human services, Alex Azar revealed, that more than one million coronavirus tests are available for use in private and commercial labs as well as hospitals. In addition, 2.1 million tests will soon be shipped out to be used for coronavirus testing in the US.

At the same day, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Wuhan province, the epicenter of the epidemic, as major show of confidence in his administration response to the pandemic. At its worst, Hubei was reporting thousands of new cases per day.

Xi’ low profile during the epidemic led to speculation that the propaganda apparatus was trying to ensure that he did not take any blame for the apparent bungling and alleged covering up of the initial response to the problem.

As of Tuesday, there have been 80,754 cases of the virus confirmed across China, with 67,760 of which were in Hubei, the province of which Wuhan is the capital. Of the 3,136 deaths confirmed in China, all but 112 have been in Hubei.
