JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – The Statistics Indonesia recorded that the tourist arrivals from January to November 2017 reached 12.68 million, increased 21.84 per cent from the same period in 2016, the statistic agency head Suhariyanto said Tuesday (02/01). The government has targeted tourist arrivals of 15 million in 2017. This may not be reached as many tourists could have canceled their trips to Indonesia, in particular to Bali Island because of the eruption of Mount Agung. Arrivals at two major airports — Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Ngurah Rai International Airport — decreased by 0.93 and 9.63 percent year-on-year (yoy), respectively. China, the largest source of tourists last year, contributed 13.36 per cent to total tourist arrivals in November, followed by Singapore with 12.25 per cent of tourists, Malaysia with 11.30 per cent and Australia with 7.81 per cent.
