Sintesa Group get syndicated loan $145 Million from SMI, CIMB Niaga

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Sintesa Group through its subsidiary PT Metaepsi Pejebe Power Generation (Meppo-gen) get syndicated loan Rp1.9 trillion (US$145 million) lead by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (IDX: BNGA) and PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance as a book runner.

Synthesis Group CEO Shinta Widjaja said in a press statement, the loan facility will be used to increase the capacity of coal-power based power plant PT Gunung Megang in Muara Enim, South Sumatra from 80 to 110 megawatt (MW). The company will develop a line of business in the field of environmentally friendly energy through organic and in-organic growth strategy.

President Director of SMI Emma Sri Martini added, the agency gives a facility of $37.5 million to provide facilities for development of infrastructure, especially electricity. Meanwhile, President Director of CIMB Niaga Tigor Siahaan stated, in this transaction the bank also acted as facility agent and security agent.

Through its sharia business unit (PT CIMB Niaga Syariah), it continues to support the development of environmentally friendly energy infrastructure, including power plant Gunung Megang.

“We hope this syndicated helpful, especially with the additional supply of electricity generated power generation is later, there are approximately 133 million citizens of South Sumatra,” said Emma.

Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of IIF Harold Tjiptadjaja continued, as lead arranger, it ensures this project is always done in the principles of environmentally sound, so any project financed may be partly responsible for social and environmental conditions that participated impacted on the infrastructure.
