JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – State-owned cement manufaturer PT Semen Indonesia Tbk Persero (IDX: SMGR) experienced a 10.2 per cent (year-on-year/yoy) increase in domestic cement sales  to 28.96 million tons in 2017.

In detail, the domestic sales reached 27.09 million tons, up 5.5 per cent yoy. The sales of Semen Padang reaches 6.52 million tons and Semen Tonasa amounted to 5.22 million tons.

Meanwhile, export sales reached 1.87 million tons of cement. Total export sales soared 212.2 per cent yoy. This year, the company set target domestic cement sales growth of 5 per cent.

The company expects to see similar conditions as in 2017 and put its cement consumption growth estimate in the range of 5 – 7 percent (y/y) in 2018, supported by government infrastructure projects, low inflation, political stability and rising in commodity price.
