JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - President Joko Widodo may announce second reshuffle soon, with a number of ministers are speculated to move to new posts, while other ministers are to be replaced with new figures, according to sources at the State Palace.
Susi Pudjiastuti, the current minister for maritime and fisheries, is rumored to be appointed as Coordinating Minister for the Maritime Affairs, replacing Rizal Ramli, or Minister for Transportation, replacing Ignasius Jonan.
Susi’s post is speculated to be replaced by Arif Satria, Dean at the Human Ecology Faculty of the Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB).
Pramono Anung, current cabinet secretary, is speculated to be appointed as Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), replacing Sudirman Said.
Pramono would be replaced by Johan Budi, current spokesperson of the President.
The Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry Marwan Jafar is speculated to be replaced by PDIP politician Budiman Sudjatmiko.
Education and Cultural Minister Anies Baswedan is speculated to be replaced by Yohanes Surya, a well-known Indonesian physicist and coach of Indonesian Physics Team for the Olympiad.
Anies may hold new post as Minister for Administrative Reform (PAN) and Bureaucratic Reform (RB), replacing Yuddy Chrisnandi.
Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Ferry Mursyidan Baldan may be replaced, but it is not clear yet who will be the new minister for the post.
Both Yuddy Chrisnandi is from Hanura Party, while Ferry Mursyidan Baldan is cadres of National Democratic Party (Nasdem), which is chaired by Surya Paloh, a political king-maker and strong supporter of President Joko Widodo in the Presidential Election in 2014. (*)
