PLN signs Rp21.1T of contracts to develop power plants and transmissions

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) on Friday (March 17) signed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts to develop 16 power plant projects with combined installed power capacity of 1,825.5 megawatts (MW) as well as transmission projects with combined investment value of Rp21.1 trillion.

The contracts were signed by PLN President Director of PLN Sofyan Basir and the EPC contractors. The total investment value of the 16 EPC contracts to develop power plants reached Rp13 trillion, excluding diesel power plant (PLTD), while transmission projects reached Rp2.1 trillion and long-term service agreement (LTSA) for five years valued at Rp6 trillion.

The projects are part of PLN’s move to support the government’s 35 GW installed capacity of power plants development to be developed within 5 years of his tenure, although some of the projects are likely to be completed beyond 2019.

PLN said it is ready to develop 500 kilo volt (kV) of transmission with a length of 928 kilometers along North Java coats

 

Following is the list of the power plant projects:

  1. Four contracts to develop 927.5 MW of power plants:
  2. Gas power plant PLTGU Muara Tawar Blok 2,3 & 4 Add On Project with capacity of 650 MW
  3. Gas engine power plant PLTMG Bangkanai (Peaker) Stage-2, 140 MW
  4. MPP Package 7 (Flores, Nabire, Ternate and Bontang), 100 MW
  5. Diesel power plant PLTD located in Lot I and Lot II, capacity 37.5 MW
  6. Six Letter of Appointment (LOI) for power plant project worth 898 MW:
  7. Diesel power plant PLTD spreading in Lot IV, total capacity 328 MW
  8. Mobile Power Plant (MPP) Package 3 (Merauke, Biak, Tanjung Selor, Seram and Langgur), total capacity 90 MW
  9. MPP Package 4 (Maumere in Flores as well as in Bima and Sumbawa in West Nusatenggara province), total capacity 140 MW.
  10. MPP Package 5 (Bau-Bau, Ambon and Jayapura), with total capacity of 100 MW
  11. PLTG/MG Riau Peaker, 200 MW
  12. PLTMG Kupang Peaker in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with capacity of 40 MW.
