Permana Agung Named HM Sampoerna's New Independent Commissioner

Insider Stories - An Extraordinary General Meetings of Shareholders (EGMS) of cigarrete maker PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) approved the appointment of Permana Agung Dradjattun as a new independent commissioner at the company.

HMPS’s corporate secretary Maharani Djody Subandhi said in a statement Permana’s appointment was effective since Monday (11/18).

Permana’s coming to the company, according to Maharani, was expected to give positive contribution for the company’s good corporate governance.

Permana has been holding at some important  at the finance ministry, including from 1999 to 2002 as the director general of customs and excise at the ministry. He also held a position as the director general of treasury before he retired in 2012. Permana also had been an expert advisor of the finance minister for international relation and economic cooperation.

Permana hold a Ph.D in public policy and master degree in the public finance from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, United States. He also holds a master degree in international trade and the public finance from the university of Illinois di Urbana-Champaign, United States.

Philip Morris, a giant US cigarete maker famous with its Marlboro brand owns HMSP.
