Government Obtains Rp25.5 Trillion from First Bond Auction
The Indonesian government has obtained Rp25.5 trillion from an auction of five series of Sovereign Debt Instruments in early 2018 to meet some of the financing needs in the State Budget with total bids of Rp86.2 trillion. The auction met the maximum target set at Rp25.5 trillion.
Indonesia Launches Cyber Agency to Tackle Cyber Crime
Indonesia launched a new cyber-security agency, called the National Cryptography and Cyber Agency, on Jan. 3 as the world’s biggest Muslim majority country moves to tackle cyber crime, online religious extremism and a flood of fake news on social media. Djoko Setiadi, who was installed on Wednesday, is obligated to lead cracking down on terrorist networks which communicate online and combating online hate speech that has been blamed for driving fundamentalism in a country once praised for its religious pluralism. The agency is an upgrade of a previous agency called, the State Cryptography Agency (LSN), which was chaired by Setiadi. The new agency reports directly to the President.
Mutiara Timur Raises Its Stake in Golden Eagle
PT Mutiara Timur Pratama has increased its stake in PT Golden Eagle Energy Tbk (SMMT). Previously, Mutiara Timur had 1.03 billion shares or equal to 32.88 per cent stake in Golden Energy.
Marketing Sales of PP Property Reaches Rp 3 Trillion
State-owned propery firm PT PP Properti Tbk (PPRO) recorded marketing sales of Rp 3 trillion last year, in line with the target set by the company or grew 21 per cent over the previous year. PPRO’s President Director Taufik Hidayat in his press release said the marketing sales achievement was contributed from the sales of properties in its Grand Kamala Lagoon proect (24 per cent), Grand Shamaya Surabaya (18 per cent), Alton Semarang (11 per cent), Evenciio Depok (10 per cent), Begawan Malang (9 per cent) and also contribution from several realty projects as well other commercials.
Trans Java and Sumatra Toll to Fully Operate this Year
Minister of Public Works and People’s Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono confirmed that the Trans Java toll road, connecting the western and eastern tip of the Java Island, could be fully operational by the end of 2018 following the completion of the land acquisition in some sections of the toll road this month. The government will also gradually complete the construction of the Trans-Jaya toll road along 4,350 kilometers, 2,900 kilometer Trans Sumatra of Lampung-Banda Aceh and the 660 kilometer Trans Java Trans-Java toll road.
