JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Flight carrier, AirAsia Group Bhd (MYX: 5099), launched Financial Marketplace by Airasia Money today. Integrated within its airasia super app, the new platform is a consumer service that offers an affordable of financial products and services for its customers.

Airasia Money currently offers credit card and personal loans in partnership with RinggitPlus. It will introduce comparison of financial products and solutions like insurance, investments, financial awareness and education, payments, as well as Islamic financial products and services.

Tony Fernandes, CEO of Airasia Group said on Friday (04/23), “We launched the Airasia super app last year to be the fastest-growing super app in ASEAN, and as we continue to innovate, today we are proud to introduce a new vertical within the Airasia super app - Airasia Money.”

The aviation firm entered the financial technology industry in 2018 with BigPay, and the aim is to continue innovating and staying relevant in the market and now, introducing Airasia Money, whose financial marketplace will be the aggregator that will help our customers towards financial freedom.

The Financial Marketplace, nested within our super app, will be the one-stop financial center for all our customer’s needs, starting with Malaysia and followed by other ASEAN countries, including Indonesia in the second quarter (2Q), the Philippines (3Q), and Thailand (4Q) of 2021.

Earlier, the aviation firm has expanded its retail and e-commerce services with the launch of a new beauty platform, Airasia beauty, in Malaysia and Indonesia. The service is currently available for delivery within Klang Valley, Malaysia and Jakarta via its logistics armed, Teleport.

“E-commerce and home shopping has now become part of our daily life. We hope to share our products to the people of ASEAN by leveraging on Airasia’ unique internal talent, none other than our cabin crew and grooming instructors who are the perfect beauty ambassadors,” said head of Airasia Super App, Lim Ben-Jie, in an official statement released on Thursday.

Earlier, the airlines managers has launched Ikhlas and AirAsia Food. Now, AirAsia looking the ride-hailing businesses as part of the company plans to create super apps. The company aimed to open the first new online motorcycle taxi in Malaysia.
