Lion Express Ink Multi Years Contract with Malaysia’s MMAG Holdings

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – PT Lion Express, unit of Indonesian flight carrier Lion Air Group have inked a multi-year business collaboration with Malaysia’ MMAG Holdings Bhd’ subsidiary, Line Clear Express and Logistics Sdn. Bhd. (LCEL), said the company today (09/11). The both parties plans to offer a range of supply chain management services between the two countries.

Among the services included logistics, warehousing facilities, last mile deliveries, transportation and customized solutions, along with specialized value-added services like bonded warehouse facilities in both countries, insurance coverage, using flight network of Lion Air Group.

“Being selected to work with Lion Parcel has expanded our target market beyond the 30 million population size in Malaysia,” LCEL’ CEO Wong Eng Su in an official statement by adding this collaboration should provide the catalyst for small medium enterprises to tap into the 264 million population market in Indonesia.

While, Lion Express CEO Farian Kirana pointed out that Lion Air with a big fleet of passenger and cargo aeroplanes would enable transporting goods besides people at a timely manner. He stated, “We are confident that our partnership with Line Clear will address the delivery needs of 2.5 million Indonesians in Malaysia.”

Last June, Lion Express with the brand name Lion Parcel as a form of commitment in increasing customer satisfaction, introduces the latest promo program titled DUIT. Kirana stated that through this Money Program, more sellers, especially online sellers, can get to know more about Lion Parcel and can achieve the delivery target of up to 10 million kilogram in 2019.

The company target go public at Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2021. The funds from the initial public offering will be used as expansion funds. Kirana explained, in the next few years, the company is targeting enter the Southeast Asia market.

“If the IPO is realized, we will develop markets overseas. To prepare ourselves, Lion Parcel continues to develop the existing infrastructure,” he said.

Currently, its parent company, Lion Group, partners with Thai Lion Air, through the Malindo Air company. Malaysia has become a target because Lion Group is collaborating in this neighboring country through Malindo Air.
