JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit (IBU) named Kevin Lyon as a Managing Director, effective Oct. 1, 2018, said the company on August 29. Lyon, 52, succeeds Chuck Taylor who will retire from Chevron in early 2019 after 38 years of distinguished service to pursue other opportunities.
Lyon will oversee the company’s exploration and production activities in Indonesia and the Philippines. As the head of upstream operations in Indonesia and the Philippines for the past five years, Taylor has led the IBU in delivering outstanding operational performance and business results.
Over the course of his career, Taylor has held management and engineering positions in the United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria and Indonesia. Over his 30- year career, Lyon has held numerous engineering and management positions in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nigeria, Netherlands, the Philippines and the US.
Prior to his current position as Special Advisor for IBU, Lyon was the Country Manager and President of Chevron Bangladesh managing over half of the country’s daily natural gas production, a position he held from 2015 to 2018.
Chevron is one of the world’s integrated energy companies and through its Indonesian subsidiaries, including PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, has been present in Indonesia for 94 years. Through ist subsidiaries, Chevron leads as one of Indonesia’s largest producers of crude oil.
From onshore oil fields in Riau, Sumatra and our offshore fields in East Kalimantan, these companies have produced more than 13 billion barrels of oil to meet the energy needs of Indonesia’s growing economy.
In operating the oil and gas blocks in Indonesia, the companies work under the supervision and direction of the Special Taskforce for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities based on Production Sharing Contract terms.
