Indonesia Investment Board invites 130 UK investors to invest in infrastructure

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - The Indonesian government continues its efforts to lure foreign investors to invest in the country’s infrastructure sector in line with the Joko Widodo government to embark on infrastructure development.

Recently, the Head of the National Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong visited London to invite UK investors to invest in Indonesia. UK’s direct investment in Indonesia from 2011 until first half of 2016 has reachedUS$4.6 billion or around Rp59.8 trillion. This shows the importance of UK investors to Indonesia. In UK, Thomas Lembong delivers a speech at a conference entitled “Business Forum: Infrastructure Investment Opportunity in Indonesia”. The event was jointly held by BKPM and London Embassy and attended by 130 business people from Indonesia and UK. Currently, UK is the seventh largest foreign investors for Indonesia. (*)
