JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Indonesia’s flag-carrier PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk has appointed Juliandra Nurtjahjo as new president director of PT Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia, known as GMF AeroAsia, replacing Richard Budihadianto.
Richard has become president director of GMF AeroAsia since 2007, while Juliandra was previiously Director of Line Operation of GMF AeroAsia.
Juliandra said after his appointment that he, together with all employees of GMF, will work hard to attain GMF AeroAsia’s vision to become one of the 10 largest MRO (maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) player in the world.
Juliandra was quoted by Antara as saying that GMF has set strategy for 2016-2020 and is committed to reach target (revenues) of US$1 billion in 2018, two years ahead of plan.
GMF, he said, has set target to book revenues of US$1.6 billion in 2020, or an increase of 355 percent from projected 2016 revenues. To reach the target, GMF will grow through organic and unorganic growth.
As part of organic growht strategy, GMF AeroAsia will expand is capability and capacity, set up strategic alliance with other parties as well as entering new business such as General Aviation business.
Therefore, GMF will strenghen is business portfolio in component and engine, maintain performance of airframe as well as speed up the implementation of the company’s milestone.
In term of unorganic growth, GMF plans to set up new business entity and merger or acquisition.
As part of the above strategies, GMF aims win more MRO works from local and international aircraft operators.
GMF also plans to set up MRO facilities in eastern Indonesia to support general aviation business and strengthen its footprint in Europe, East Asia and Middle East. (*)
