JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC) searched two Sinarmas Group‘s subsidiary office related to bribery cases in Central kalimantan on Tuesday (30/10).
The two locations are the offices of PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk (IDX: SMART) and PT Binasawit Abadi Pratama (BAP) in Jakarta. The two companies are known to be subsidiaries of the Sinarmas engaged in agribusiness.
“Since Monday afternoon until Tuesday (30/10) morning, our team conducted a search at the SMART and BAP offices located in one building,” CEC’s spokesman Febri Diansyah told the media crew at his office.
From the search, he said, he confiscated two boxes of evidence, consisting of documents related to licensing and corporate documents. In addition there are also electronic evidence, in the form of laptops and hard drives.
Diansyah explained, the search was also carried out in parallel in three different locations in Central Kalimantan on Monday (29/10).
“We will further study the evidence that has been obtained from around five locations since yesterday,” he concluded.
As information, on Friday (26/10), the agency arrested Chairman of Commission B of Central Kalimantan regional parliament Borak Milton, Secretary of Commission B Punding LH Bangkan, then Commission B member Arisavanah and Edy Rosada.
While from Sinarmas namely the Managing Director of SMART Edy Saputra Suradja, CEO of PT BAP North Kalimantan Region Willy Agung Adipradhana, and Legal Manager of PT BAP Teguh Dudy Syamsury Zaldy.
At the hand arrested operation, the CEC also confiscated Rp240 million (US$160 million) in bribes. The money was allegedly given by the bribe so that the parliment did not hold a hearing related to the alleged environmental pollution of its business activities.
