JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, will announce the vice minister to company the appointed minister, he said during chatting with reporters at the Merdeka Palace, on Thursday (10/24). He rejected to elaborated the number of vice ministers and in what ministry.

He gave an example, if state own enterprises (SOEs) minister Erick Thohir need up to three or four deputy ministers to help him, he would consider approving the request. According to him, its natural that the SOEs ministry has many deputy ministers because it oversees 140 companies with total assets of Rp1,800 trillion (US$128.57 billion.

“I have ordered the SOE minister that this be managed with corporate management, but the orientation is still in the interests of the people, not merely profit but for the people, for the country,” he added.

Thohir himself, admitted has sent four names to become his vice ministers. One candidates, is the CEO of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (IDX: BMRI), Kartika Wiraatmodjo, he adds, but deny to comment on other names.

Based on the list received by TheInsiderStories, Mahendra Siregar is estimating to become vice minister for foreign affairs, Angela Heliani Tanoesoedibjo become vice minister for information and communication affairs, Erani Yustika for finance ministry, and Emil Dardak for public works and public house affairs.

Other names in the list are Grace Natalie, Hariyadi Sukamdani, Hikmawanto Djuwana, Aria Bima, Wisnu Broto Setyo, Diaz Hendropriyono, Thomas Trikasih Lembong, Prananda Surya Paloh, Errico Sutarduga, and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

In the Widodo’ first term, three ministers has allowed to have vice minister. The institution are finance ministry, energy and resources minerals ministry and foreign ministry.

Yesterday, president has inaugurated 38 minister and ministerial level to support his target during 2019 – 2024. In the first plenno meeting in Merdeka Palace, Widodo asserted his staff must support president and vice president’ vision and missions.

He also urged, his ministers work as a team, not work only for their ministry and sectoral. He asserted, “The big goal of our work is job creation. Give the best service.”
