JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Several famous names will lead major state own enterprises (SOEs), sources told TheInsiderStories recently. As reported, several big companies leader has been dismissed because of corruption cases, become a government official, and other problems.

The companies are PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (MIND ID), PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (IDX: BMRI), PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III, PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (IDX: BBTN). The sources also said SOEs minister Erick Thohir consider to replace Nicke Widyawati as CEO of PT Pertamina.

The names that have emerged recently are to fill the top management of the state firms are former governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahja Purnama or Ahok, CEO of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (IDX: ANTM) Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo, vice president director of PT Freeport Indonesia Orias Petrus, former president director PT Mandiri Sekuritas, and finance director of PT Pertamina Pahala Mansjuri.

After meet Thohir at the SOEs ministry office today (11/13), Ahok admitted the ministers has asked his readyness to lead one of the SOEs. However, he did not yet know the position and in which companies.

Ariotedjo and Moedak is estimating to become the CEO of MIND ID. Then Mansjuri and Rumantir are candidates to lead Bank Mandiri and Bank Tabungan Negara.

So far, Thohir denied to comment the rumors, but he admitted has sent several names to President Joko Widodo. Based on the government rules for the major SOES the decision in the head of state’ hands as a chaiman of Final Assessment Team.

Since his first term, Widodo wanted to create super holding for the SOEs to rise its global competitiveness and five companies enter Fortune Global 500 from only two since 2015. He also wants the SOE numbers reduced from 140 companies to only to a dozens firms.

To implement the president order, the ministry targeting to form 16 new holding companies for banks, energy, mines, toll roads and construction, housing and food sectors. So far, the institution has established six holdings for cement, plantation, mining, energy, fertilizer, and forestry sectors.

This year, the ministry has designate PT Pertamina  as holding for oil and gas, MIND ID lead holding mining, PT Hutama Karya for toll roads and infrastructure construction, PT Perum Perumnas to lead housing construction, PT Danareksa managed financial services and Perum Bulog as a holding companies for food commodities.
