JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association urged two ministers and chief executive state-owned power producer, PT Perusahaan Listik Negara (PLN) to resign followed the major blackout on Sunday (08/04). While, President Joko Widodo reprimanded that the company failed to anticipate the problem.

During his visit to the headquarter of PLN in Jakarta today, Widodo reprimanded that the management did not have a good skill to calculate and estimating the incident. It showed how the company need hours to handle the issues.

“PLN is the largest electricity supplier in our country. They have worked with a lot of experience but they cannot calculate well. I stress this incident should not be repeated again. PLN must immediately repair the damage wherever it i,” he urged at the meeting with the management.

Widodo also rated, PLN has ignored governance of risks and contingency plans and back up plans. Otherwise, the young businessmen association spokesperson Yaser Palito opined is strange with the oversupply capacity, the power plant damaged.

He stressed that the officials must take responsible for this incident and dismissed immediately. He gave an example of how public officials from other countries resigned because of similar case.

“This incident is very embarrassing. Mass outages and very long actually occurred in the national capital and island of Java. This happened at our economy state centre,” he said in a written statement today.

According to PLN’ CEO Sripeni Inten Cahyani explained this incident beyond her expectations. Of the four networks provided there are two damaged networks that are very difficult to handle.

She added that for the time being the electricity supply was provided in rotation. Cahyani stated, “We are investigating again, the cause of this incident, we apologize.”
