JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – After long hours debate, United States House of Representative impeached President Donald Trump based on two articles of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He become third president impeached by the parliament after Andrew Johnson and Richard Nixon.

He tweeted: “As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP, intended to take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall, and their God-given rights as a Citizen of The United States of America!”
While, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused House Democrats of trying to “bully” and “intimidate” state department officials by scheduling depositions about their involvement with President Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president on short notice, CBS reported.
On Friday, three House chairmen informing him they had set dates for joint depositions of foreign service’ five officials named in the whistleblower complaint about the Ukraine call. The first officials were scheduled to be deposed this week.
Pompeo responded by wrote a letter to House foreign affairs committee chairman Eliot Engel, that the committee had not given the officials adequate time to prepare. He wrote, “I am concerned with aspects of your request, described more fully below, that can be understood only as an attempt to intimidate, bully, and treat improperly the distinguished professionals of the Department of State, including several career Foreign Service Officers.”
Pompeo also indicated he would respond to a separate subpoena requesting documents related to the call by the deadline of Friday. On Monday, He was revealed to have been on the call between Trump and the Ukrainian president.
The chairmen issued a response of their own later Tuesday, accusing Pompeo of stonewalling their investigation and intimidating witnesses. They stated, “He should immediately cease intimidating Department witnesses in order to protect himself and the President.”
A House Intelligence Committee official said on Monday, one of the officials, ex-envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker, will appear behind closed doors as planned on Thursday. Another official, former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, will now appear on Oct. 11 instead of Wednesday as originally planned.
Last week, House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry against Trump. The action is beginning even though lawmakers left town Friday for a two-week recess.
The proposal come after Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden, one of the leading Democratic candidates seeking to challenge him in 2020, and his son Hunter, who sat on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.
Democrats have accused Trump of pressuring a vulnerable US ally to get dirt on a political rival for personal political gain. Trump’ July 25 phone call, came after he froze nearly US$400 million in aid intended to help Ukraine deal with an insurgency by Russian-backed separatists in the eastern part of the country. The aid was later provided.
The whistleblower has not been publicly identified. Trump, in a series of Twitter posts on Sunday evening, said he wanted to “meet” the whistleblower, who he called “my accuser,” as well as “the person who illegally gave this information” to the whistleblower.
“Was this person SPYING on the U.S. President? Big Consequences!” Trump wrote.
