JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Suicide bomber hit Medan resort police office in North Sumatera, this morning (11/12), said the official today. Based on the official report, so far, only one death body found at the location.
“From the temporary allegations the bomb was in the body of the perpetrator himself. The bomber is suspected have died,” the national police spokesman, brigade general Dedy Prasetyo, told local media by adding a bomb blast happened in the parking lot.
Based on the local police report, 08.35 a.m. local time, a suicide bombing occurred in the Medan police office yard. The officer told the perpetrators to open a jacket and then walked towards the yard.
In the front of the police office, the perpetrator immediately blew himself up. The explosion resulted in five police and one student injured. The victims name are Abdul Mutolip, Sarponi, Deni Hamdani, Juli Chandra, Ricard Purba, and Ihsan Mulyadi Siregar.
The damage also hit the police office and has broken glass, damaged the car, service truck units to debris. At present the injured are still being treated at the Bhayangkara Hospital.
Last March, three suspected terrorists in Sibolga City, North Sumatra were captured by the police’s anti-terror squad Densus 88. Former national police chief Tito Karnavian stated, “All three are Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) networks affiliated with the ISIS. But the actions of the suspected terrorists have nothing to do with the election.”
He made the statement based on the police investigation result before the terror raid that triggered explosions. He explained that the perpetrator had affiliations with radical group ISIS. Thus, the network would continue to carry out terrorism as it had indoctrinated its followers regardless of the election.
Karnavian adds, the arrest of the three suspected terrorists in Sibolga was the development of the arrest of a terrorist suspect in Lampung, Husain Alkas Abu Hamzah. Based on Hamzah’ claim, Densus 88 had caught two suspects in different places.
