JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk posted net profit of Rp2.97 trillion in the first quarter 2016, representing an increase of 5.5 percent from the same period last year. Its net interest margin (NIM) increased 13.3 percent to Rp6.91 trillion from Rp6.09 trillion a year earlier.
Its fee based income also rose 16.4 percent to Rp2.22 trillion in the first quarter from Rp1.90 trillion in the same period last year. The company recorded an increase in credit extension in the period to Rp362.74 trillion from Rp269.51 rillion. Its consolidated assets reached Rp509.09 trillion, compared to Rp508.6 trillion in the same period last year.
BNI President Directo said the credit increase reflected an improvement of business activities in the first quarter, partly due to the development of various government infrastructures. (*)
